Present at the meeting were Mr. Phung Dinh Thuc, former Party Secretary, Chairman of BoD, Mr. Do Van Hau, President and CEO, Mr. Pham Xuan Canh, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Party Committee, leaders of BoD, Standing Party Committee, Trade Union and Youth Union of Petrovietnam.
According to the Prime Minister’s decision, Chairman Phung Dinh Thuc officially retired from 1st June 2014. Pending the Prime Minister’s appointment, with the consent of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Party Committee of the Central Business Sector, the Chairman task is handed over to Mr. Do Van Hau, BoD member, President and CEO; and the Party Secretary Task is handed over to Mr. Pham Xuan Canh, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Party Committee.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phung Dinh Thuc affirmed that PetroVietnam has overcome difficulties and gained certain achievements in the past time, deserved to be the leading economic group of the country. He believed under the leadership of the Board of Directorsand Executive Management Board, the Group would continue promoting the achievements, have consistency in direction, fulfill the targets, plans, tasks assigned by the Government, and continue to finish glorious petroleum career. He hoped that PetroVietnam continue to get rapid development in the future.
Mr. Phung Dinh Thuc was born on 12th May 1954. He graduated from Baku Petrochemical Institute (former USSR) with oil and gas major in 1977. He is Doctor of Science in offshore petroleum technology, and experienced the following positions: Director of Oil and Gas Production Enterprise, Chief Engineer of Vietsovpetro, and General Director of Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation. In July 2009, he was appointed PetroVietnam President and CEO. On 16th September 2011, he was appointed PetroVietnam Chairman of Board of Directors.
