President Truong Tan Sang joined leaders of ministries and agencies and representatives from the Russian Embassy and the Russian Consulate General in Vietnam at the launching ceremony, which was held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of PetroVietnam (November 27). The drilling rig is a key national mechanical project with Petro Vietnam as the investor and Petro Vietnam Marine Shipyard as the EPC contractor. Vietnam has become one of the three countries in Asia and of ten nations worldwide to build jack-up drilling rig of international standards recognized by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). As one of national key projects, The Moc Tinh oil platform was invested by Bien Dong POC, VSP is the general constructor, PVC-MS is the onshore constructor. It is currently the largest oil platform in Vietnam, with a total weight of over 14.000 tons. At the ceremony, the Russian-Vietnamese oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro signed a contract with PetroVietnam Marine Shipyard for the construction of a second 90 m jack-up drilling rig to be built by the later. On the morning of 14-Aug-2023, at PVC-MS port, Petroleum Equipment Assembly & Metal Structure Joint Stock Company (PVC-MS) held the Commencement for the package “Prefabrication service and Construction work - Jacket of Greater Changhua Offshore Wind Farm Project”. This is an important package of the Greater Changhua CHW2204 Project with a total capacity of 920 MW in Taiwan (China), and PVC-MS has been selected as the subcontractor for construction.
