From 18th to 20th June 2015, Petrovietnam working group led by President & CEO Nguyen Quoc Khanh attended the 19th Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russian Federation.
It is the annual economic forum to be compared as Russia’s Davos, where concentrate many government leaders and managers from the world’s leading enterprises. With over 6000 delegates from more than 100 countries around the world, the event is evaluated to contribute positively to building the macroeconomic development models and promoting comprehensive cooperation between the Corporations, Russian companies and foreign partners
Petrovietnam working group joined the discussions on the oil and gas industry, energy and special events of SPIEF Forum 2015 such as the Meeting of International Energy Companies’ Leader and the meeting of Russia’s President V.V. Putin with leaders of foreign companies.
In the framework of the forum, PetrovietnamPresident Nguyen Quoc Khanh and Gazprom President Miller A.B signed a basic agreement on gas price for implementing production projects at Nagumanov and North Purov fields. “This agreement is a very important step to promote the projects of Nagumanov and North Purov fields, Russian Federation and a testament to the strategic partnership between PetroVietnam and Gazprom” – said President Nguyen Quoc Khanh.
Besides, the two leaders also gave positive assessment of the implementation of the first-stage projects in the territory of Vietnam (Block 111-113, 129-132, 05-2, 05-3) and of Russian Federation (Nagumanov, North Purov fields) and committed efforts to promote cooperation in petrochemical refining and producing gas for motor fuel. In addition, the two sides agreed to actively study and consider the possibility for cooperation in the field of importing LNG and electricity market in Vietnam.
Talking to Mr. Kudriasov S.I. - President of Zarubezhneft, the two sides acknowledged the efforts of Vietsovpetro and Rusvietpetro in the production and business activities negatively affected by the decline of world’s oil price and agreed to facilitate further stable development of the joint ventures. In particular, President Nguyen Quoc Khanh suggested that Zarubezhneft actively support and promote the extension of incentives for Rusvietpetro as soon as possible.
Working with Rosneft leaders, Petrovietnam President& CEONguyen Quoc Khanh thanked Rosneft for introducing new investment opportunities in Russia and announced that Petrovietnam was conducting quick assessment of the above opportunities. Both sides discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation at Block 15-01/15 on the continental shelf of Vietnam and cooperation in the oil & gas services and trading (especially bunkering services).
At the Forum, Petrovietnam President& CEONguyen Quoc Khanh also met leaders of the International Petroleum Companies such as Mr. Eulogio Del Pino - President of PDVSA (Venezuela). The two sides exchanged views on the implementation of Junin 2 project as well as new investment opportunities in Venezuela.
Discussing with Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev - President of SOCAR (Azerbaijan), the two sides agreed to further promote implementing the cooperation agreement in the project for development of Absheron field, Kaspi Sea, other cooperation projects of both sides’ concern in Azerbaijan Republic, Vietnam and third countries; actively prepare the contents on the projects/opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the oil & gas exploration and production, including provision of petroleum engineering services, materials and manpower for the oil and gas industry.
Regarding the cooperation between Petrovietnam and ONGC (India), President& CEONguyen Quoc Khanh and Mr. Narendra Kumar Verma – President and CEO of ONGC confirmed that besides the cooperation in the PSC Contract for Blocks 06-1 and 128, the two sides would continue to cooperate in other opportunities in Vietnam and India.
