The event marks an important milestone, the official start of operations for oil exploitation of the Diamond WHP.
This also marks a continued successful milestone in investment cooperation in the oil and gas industry in Vietnam for the Partners in the block who consist of Petronas Carigali Vietnam Limited (PCVL) as the investor, PVC – MS as the EPCC contractor, the designer PVE and the installer PTSC POS.
The Diamond Field Development Plan (FDP) consists of a WHP (topside, jacket, drilling deck) and a sub sea pipeline system to transport hydrocarbons, gas, gas lift and water. PCVL is the investor of the 57-million-USD project, including a jacket with 2.350 tons and topside of 2.300 tons. PVC-MS is the general contractor in charge of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC).
PVC-MS with its professional engineers and modern equipment, has acted responsibly to ensure the project’s safety, quality, and strict adherence to deadlines. This is the project having shortest construction time that the company has done, in just over 10 months in bad weather condition, PVC-MS’s representative said.
PVC-MS launched the Diamond field development project in on 15th March 2013.
The Diamond field is in the Block 01-02, 162 km (100 miles) northeast of the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. Block 01-02, where Ruby, Pearl and Topaz oilfields are operational, is being developed by PVCL and Petro Vietnam Exploration Production Corp (PVEP), units owned by state-run oil firms in the two countries.
