RC9 topside consists of 3 decks: main deck, upper deck and platform, with a total weight of 630 tonnes, including steel structure, equipment, and process piping. RC9 structural structures fabrication has been basicly completely after three months of execution with the successful upper deck installation in this morning, Feb 23, 2016.
The installation of the main deck and the platform had been finished before that date. This is the first time for PVC-MS to accomplish the main deck using a local erection method instead of fabricaing the deck on the ground and then lifting it. The local erection method had been applied for any fixed location deck without high level of construction. The local fabrication and erection of the main deck had been executed simultaneously with process piping installation, helping a saving for crane expensse, scaffolding labor, construction space, construction time and manpower to the project.
PVC-MS has used its best endeavor and effort to complete 82.8% of work volome, exceeding nearly 12% in comparision with the approved schedule.
RC9 Topside is expectedly scheduled to be handed over to Vietsovpetro on or before March 30, 2016 for further offshore transportation & installation.
