The conference, which chaired by the Vietnam’s Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang, has attracted nearly 100 participants representing the US private sector and the Vietnamese Government.
It aimed to introduce the investment opportunities in the energy and finance sector in Vietnam generally and with PetroVietnam particularly. Twenty six PetroVietnam’s projects in the fields of down/midstream, power generation, infrastructure and equity were introduced like Dung Quat and Long Son oil refineries, Nam Con Son 2 gas pipelines, Quang Trach 1 and Long Phu 1 coal fired power plants, Binh Thuan wind farm, Van Phong Petroleum industry service base, Phuoc An port, Dung Quat shipyard, PetroVietnam tower.... On the sideline, a cooperation agreement between McKinsey&Company and PetroVietnam was signed.
Besides, the Group also organized roundtable meetings in New York City and Houston to exchange ideas and discuss the above projects with the interested US companies, among which some institutions and business groups include the US Eximbank, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Houston Port Authority, Goldman Sachs, TPG Capital, Morgan Stanley and McKinsey&Company.
This was the first ever PetroVietnam’s investment road-show in the US, expecting to establish a great network with the US business community as well as to develop a long term business partnership with US companies./.
